Open Hand

Every Monday morning we offer the opportunity to pray together as a team. Those who are able and so desire call in and we spend 15-45 minutes sharing individual, family, and company prayer requests. One of the standing company requests that we offer to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, is that we come into the week with an open hand. We deeply desire to approach the week knowing that it is up to the Lord to put in and to withdraw what he wants from our areas of oversight.

This is an easy thing to pray when He is adding. But, it is incredibly difficult to hold true when He is subtracting. In the past few months we have seen the Lord add some incredible projects and direction by adding Groeneveld-Beka, adding customer changing projects focused on LOADRITE InsightHQ, growing deeper business and personal relationships with our customers who have come to truly value the LOADRITE brand, and by adding more states to our LOADRITE contract. And, at the exact same time, we have lost partnerships we’ve had for 15-20 years.

The only way we know to not let the defeats take an outsized portion of our time, energy, and thought is to truly, truly believe that the Lord is in control. He owns the cattle on a thousand hills. He gives and takes away. May His name be blessed. He is the author and perfecter of our faith. He has always been and will always be. A person has their thoughts, but He directs their course.

We only stuff for a later outlet  if we pretend that the losses don’t matter. We are being short sighted and setting ourselves up for future  failure if we try to do the math by weighing the gains vs the losses. It seems appropriate to mourn the losses, celebrate the wins, and put ALL our faith and trust in a loving Savior who knows where He is leading us.

I am saying these truths out loud again and again to keep my focus on Him, and because I need it. He is in control. My trust is in Him, the one who started His work will be faithful and true to see it to completion. He will see it to completion. My job is to stay close to Him.
